If music be the food for love, play on.... This quote from Shakespeare is just so apt. Music proves to be an asset for every aspect of our lives. Just think of it...from parties to religious ceremonies.....music ican be heard everywhere. The variety of music, too, caters to everyones taste and suites all occasions. In todays fast paced world, music happens to be the best option to rewind and relax.
And talking of music releases this year......it has been the best combination in this genre of beautiful, soulful and soothing music. Especially the last few releases like Parineeta, Paheli and Bose have such wonderful songs that guide you to a completely different world. This review is not just about Parineeta but also about the wonderful albums released lately.
Starting with Parineeta, I havnt gone through the whole album, but the rushes on television suggest that the songs will be wonderful.Piya bole is a soulful duet by Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam giving playback to newcomer Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan. The song gives us a taste of the yesteryears music composers like O.P Nayyar and its melodious tunes are mesmerising.Kaisi paheli picturised on Rekha...is one of those Howrah Bridge kind of songs and carries the feeling of the naughtiness of Babuji dheere chalne.... Overall, this period film has the perfect blend of music that is apt for that setting in Bengal.
Bose is an album that completely enthralls its listeners with its captivating tunes. The genius in A.R Rehman has given wonderful music in this movie.Azaadi is a highly patriotic song that truelly exemplifies the feelings of our freedom fighters.Ekla Chalo, Chalo Dilli and Kadam Kadam are other inspiring songs that actually brings back the days of Bose and his struggle.
Paheli is another great effort by stalwarts like Amol Palekar(director), lyricist Gulzar and music composer M.M. Kareem. The two songs on air presently...Dheere Jalna and Kangna are songs that remain in ur hearts and minds forever................ compositions that you will thoroughly love and enjoy.
Apart from them, songs of Bunty aur Babli and Kaal are also fun and interesting. As far as a single song is concerned, the song that has completely captivated my heart is Woh Lamhe.... from Zeher. All I can say for this song is that its AWESOME!!!
In short, 2005 has been a great year for music lovers....hopefully this spree should continue for now and ever more..........
