Rajesh, you wanted opinion on Parle G and here it is. Review is not from a nutrition expert but from a consumer.
I do not think this product is targeted for any age group. Parle Products Pvt. Ltd. (Mfg. by Bunty Food Product – not a known to name) markets Parle G. Parle is reputed old business house and incidentally the only Indian big player in this field. I trust them not because of Swadeshi feeling but due to their endeavor to give their best to consumer. Price and consistency in quality of Parle G reflects tells about their attitude.

Why it is “----- --------- HEALTHY FOOD”
Nutrition Chart is as follows – as printed on the wrapper
Protein – 8gm / 100 gm
Fat – 14 gm / 100 gm
Carbohydrate – 75 gm / 100 gm
Dietary Fiber – 2.2 gm / 100 gm
Calcium – 60 mg / 100 gm
Iron – 8 mg / 100 gm
Energy – 450 Kcal / 100 gm (one regular pack)
How all these help us?
Digestion process – During digestion, fats are broken down into fatty acids, glycerol and carbohydrate into simple sugar. Fatty acid, Glycerol and Sugar are oxidized (burned slowly) in the cells. Energy is released during oxidation, and this energy is used to keep organs like heart, lungs etc to work. Heat developed is essential to keep our body warm, around 37 degree Celsius. Without heat, the body would be unable to function properly.
Proteins, during digestion process breakdown into Amino Acids. Bones, muscles and other body tissues require these amino acids. We need these amino acids to repair body tissues and for the growth of bones, muscles, body tissues. Some proteins known as enzymes are required for energy, to digest food and build other proteins.
Minerals like Iron, helps to build red blood cells. About two-third weight of bones, tissues are minerals, mostly Calcium, phosphate, and carbonate. Lack of Calcium softens bone. Calcium is vital for blood clotting. Dietary fiber is essential and nutritionists recommend 25 to 30 gm a day.
So, some of the essentials are there in this biscuit like many other varieties. However, we need many other things for survival and good health. But we cannot expect all essential from one pack of biscuit.
