This story revolves around India and its zeal to become one of the countries testing nuclear missiles. Part of the story is based on the Pokhran tests that were conducted in the year 1998. It was a highly secret project carried out by a special team comprising of various people. This highly secret project was orchestrated and executed by those chosen few in the then Vajpayee government. It was successful in the end.
The first half of director Abhishek Sharmas film takes too much time to settle in. John Abraham leads the film from the word go. He was portrayed as the captain of the mission. Diana Penty was also good, along with all the supporting actors who forms the team of supporting Indian scientists and soldiers.
What Parmanu lacked is in its details and authenticity. The narration is not that kind of explosive but it keeps the viewer engaged. The film makes up with the emotions and sense of national pride.
