I watched Partner on CD. Govinda and Salman are an excellent slapstick combination. Katrina and Lara are just pretty appendages, the entire movie is carried by Govinda and Salman, perhaps somewhat by the precocious brat who plays Lara’s son. The story line is sheer slapstick without any pretensions to be serious cinema or anything else.
In that it excels as there are some hilarious moments. Basically it is about an ordinary simpleton office worker Govinda who catches the fancy of the rich lady boss Katrina, and takes lessons in sophistication from his rich buddy Salman. However Katrina prefers Govinda as the simple unaffected person he really is. In between Salman develops an interest in Lara - a single mother with a precocious brat of a son. Ultimately the two couples end up happily ever after, and the movie ends leaving a smile on the face of the audience. That is its USP.
Catchy music which will probably become superhits, nice dance tracks but not Govindas best - he is surely capable of fancier moves. Salman displays good dancing ability in this movie. Watch it with your family for fun and just relax. Hope to see more of the Salman Govinda combo in future. They are natural Partners.
