Patiala Peg Bar in Hotel Imperial on Janpath is an over hyped place as far as my observations goes. The pegs which were described as ’LARGER THAN LIFE" did not seem so. The quantity was slightly more than a Standard Large Peg. The ambience of the bar is not noteworthy by any standard, rather disappointing considering the image Imperial Hotel represents as such. I would much prefer spending time at Daniell’s Tavern than at the Bar Patiala Peg. Seating arrangement at Patiala Peg is usual, nothing extra ordinary or noteworthy. The Bar space is rather crammed as compared to other restaurants in the vicinity.
Most distressing factor, however remains the bartenders. They do not suggest any novelty/adventure as regards Cocktails. For non-alchoholic companions, no suggestions were offered to revivify their interest in the beverages. A host of disinterested waiters, indifferent in their attitude did nothing to make the evening passable, enjoyable was a far cry.
Considering all of the above, Patiala Peg did not intoxicate me one bit.
