Not that Bad

I have read some really bad reviews on Paulo Travels, but my experience was not so bad afterall. Me n my friend were returning to Mumbai  from Goa after a long season of Medical Camps and decided to go by a sleeper Volvo, not by seater coz  we had a bad experience of that coming from Mumbai. train tickets were out of  question. We booked the tickets at Mapusa  for Rs.1200 each, but it was OK taking into account the holiday season.

Also the cost for seater was 1100 each. The bus was supposed to arrive at 9:30 pm but it arrived well over 1 hr late and all of our  fellow passengers along with us were left standing in the first rains of the season. We handed our baggage to the attendant and searched for our seats. They were very comfortable considering that we both are 6 ft. tall and well built. We were expecting blankets but were not provided with them. Immediatly there was a halt on the Maharashtra-Goa border for taxes and many of us relieved our nature calls there itself, in the open, Though we felt sorry for our female counterparts. Then we slept peacefully ( the seats were good, the ride was smooth, no jerks or sudden braking ) till we halted at  Khed at around 4:00 in the morning. Here there were basic sanitary facilities for everyone. The bus began its journey to Mumbai in  half an hour. We  woke up at Vashi around  8:00am and reached Dadar around 8:45am. Overall not a bad journey and indeed a smooth  ride back  home .

Though bit on the costlier side, the bus journey was comfortable. I have heard that other Sleeper Volvos to Goa provide much more than what we got in Paulo, I am yet to experience that.
