Most of the goods they sell are probably drop-shipped. meaning they don’t actually have a warehouse full of stuff that they pull your order from. Drop-shipped means that you pay Paytm, and Paytm pays the distributor, and the distributor ships the product to you.
This is also why many online retailers don’t allow for paying by cash on delivery. They need the money first to get the product to you.
