I am going to share my personal(very bad) experience with Paytm. Nowadays Paytm is offered as a payment method in almost all online merchants including Dominos. I once ordered pizzas in Dominos through phone and when asked for payment method, I told them that I will pay by Paytm. They asked me for my mobile number registered with Paytm for payment and I gave it. They then told me that I will receive an OTP in my mobile from Paytm and I have to tell it to them. I told them my OTP and they said it didnt accept my OTP and my payment didnt go through. But money was debited from my Paytm wallet. At first, I thought it was Dominos fault, and so I went there personally and talked with the manager. He showed me the transactions and I didnt find my payment there.
After that, I came home and tried to contact Paytm about this problem through their supposed 24*7 toll-free number. The only problem is it was only IVR and I couldnt get in touch with any humans from Paytm support. So I wrote to their customer service by email and waited for a reply. They replied after 41 hours and told that it was indeed their problem and my payment didnt reach Dominos because their back-end payment systems were down for maintenance that day. They added that they will reverse my payment and I will get it within 48-72 hours. But I waited for 4 days and didnt receive my money back. When I contacted Paytm again and told them I didnt receive my money like they said, they told me that they cannot do payment reversals after 4 hours of payment. I was pissed off and told them that I contacted them after one hour of payment and didnt receive a response for next 41 hours, they told me that they cant do anything about it and closed the support ticket. My further emails were not even replied. THey scam customers off their money with their absurd policy
Dont use Paytm and lose your money
