Today I am going to share my personal very bad experience on PayUMoney service. PayUMoney is used by few websites as payment processors nowadays. I used one such website for shopping and decided to give PayUMoney a try for payment.
I added my products in cart and proceeded to checkout and I selected PayUMoney as the payment method. Other payment processors generally do not ask you to register with them just to pay. But PayUMoney asked me to register an account with my email before proceeding for payment. So I registered and used my own debit card for payment. after few steps, it said the payment was successful and I was redirected to my shopping site. To my surprise, the website said my payment failed and I may try to pay again.
I visited PayUMoney website and logged in. When I checked my payment history, it now said my payment is on hold. I tried to contact their customer service on email(It was the only given option). I received a reply after 56 hours stating that I must first verify myself as the owner of the(my) credit card I used to pay. They asked me to scan my credit card and identity documents and email to them. Also asked me to upload my photograph with me holding the card. Till that, they will hold my money. I mean, seriously?
I am not going to use their service ever again. I don’t want to do this hectic process just to pay Rs.900. Do not use their service. It is a rip-off.
