Pepperfry is an absolute scam.

I had ordered a pair of shoes on Nov. 8 for my friend. Despite their ’Shipped in 7 working days’ notice, there was no sign of the shoes and I finally got fed up and called them. After some dilly dallying they said they would refund the money (not as Pepperpoints) to my account and would give me some extra Pepperpoints as a token of apology.

I discovered the day after that I had about 3000+ Pepperpoints in my account. Several long and frantic calls later (I even complained to the Manager) they said they would transfer the money to my bank account. I finally got the cash back in my account on Dec. 11, a month after I had made the original purchase. My friend was disappointed that she didn’t get the shoes, and I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth. I thought I would the 870 Pepperpoints they had credited to my account to buy something and be done with Pepperfry forever.

I bought a Paco Rabanne perfume for my boyfriend on Dec. 5. On Dec. 12 I got an email saying that they did not have the product and had cancelled the ordered and refunded the money as Pepperpoints (with 59 extra points as a ’sorry’. How bloody generous). I called them up immediately and let loose on the phone. This kind of service is intolerable. They are basically scamming people by putting up a range of products they don’t actually have and hoping people will get drawn in.

They even tried to explain how it wasn’t their fault that the vendor didn’t have the perfume in question. I told them I wasn’t dealing with the vendor, but with them. Now I’m going to have to wait another 10 days to get my money back. And I have to look for another gift. Pepperfry are thieves. I’ll make sure to mention that to everyone.
