I bought a wardrobe 10 days ago on pepperfy website. The delivery was scheduled for last saturday. I got a call in the morning to confirm the day and I was informed by the delivery person that the delivery would definitely take place before 2 pm since I told him I was going out in the evening. Around 1 pm I received a call from the carpenter asking if I had received the furniture and I said no. He then said that he was not able to reach the delivery person, I told him I was promised delivery before 2 pm today. I tried calling the delivery person but the phone was not reachable. There was no sign of the delivery guy at 2 pm and my multiple attempts to reach him on phone were futile. At around 3:45 pm the delivery person showed up at my doorstep. I told him that I tried reaching him and in fact the carpenter also did that but his phone was not reachable and that even though I was promised a delivery before 2 pm he was delayed by 2 hours. He made some excuse up but I pointed out to him that if he was running late then he should have called me because I had other things to take care of and simply waiting for him the whole day was not how I had intended to spend my saturday. None of this made any difference to him. I told him that carpenter couldnt reach him either. He called the carpenter and informed me that carpenter can make it at 6 pm to construct my wardrobe! I reminded him that I had told him in the morning I was going out in the evening and there was no way I was going to change my evening plans. I spoke to his supervisor and explained the whole situation. My point was that I wont make the full payment because the wardrobe was not constructed and so I would make half the payment. To that they refused and started packing the stuff up. So the entire day was wasted in waiting for this guy to show up so late at my door step and then making me responsible because I was not available at 6 pm for the carpenter. Their entire attitude was to blame me whereas it was the delivery person who was clearly in fault and also the complete inflexibility in the payment part wherein I was ready to pay half the amount and remainder upon completion of my wardrobe work. The supervisor on phone promised that the deliver of my furntiture would take place next day on sunday. However I received a text message from peperfy that due to customer unavailability the delivery will now occur on Tuesday! I was constantly fed lies by this company, they ruined my entire day in simply waiting for their people to show up and then falsely accused me for all the delays and broke another promise by not delivering the goods on Sunday! It seems that peperfy treats their customers as hostages. We have to set aside all our plans and activities for at least 12 hours in order to facilitate delivery and construction of the furniture. On top of that they have bad attitude and blame the customer without reason. The delivery person did not have the decency to inform me he was going to be delayed because in that case I would have simply told him not to make the delivery on that day!
