Furniture shopping sites are super-convenient and fun to shop from. But for large items, please keep the below experience in mind. I ordered a King-size bed from PEPPERFRY on Feb21 (ORDER NO-100543946), delivery was goofed and I recd it after 6weeks, BROKEN! Immediately complained and was assured ofreplacement. Recd replacement after 9 MORE weeks. AND IT WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLOR (BLACK)!
I called and complained and asked for a refund and to tell them to take everything back. Am still following up for the last 2 WEEKS FOR a refund. Meanwhile my house resembles a warehouse with two dismantled 6x6 beds lying about. Am on first-name terms with the entire helpdesk. The Helpdesk is very well-mannered and helpful but cannot help a business that sucks at everything else. THINGS TO BEAR IN MIND ABOUT PEPPERFRY: The cheap rate comes from using Poor quality wood with visible damage marks that have been polished over, multi-joints even for a straight plank, bad workmanship and finish (poor joints). THEIR LOGISTICS IS SIMPLY TERRIBLE.
Its a complete nightmare as they seem to have little control or information about their freight partners. Unable to locate or commit to delivery day and time of a part that IS ALREADY IN THE CITY!! First bed delivered by GATI was lost in Blore warehouse for 3/4days. Second deliverd by Bluedart was crate packed and left downstairs as the guys refused to bring it up to the first floor without a sign on ’delivery complete’ challan. BUT MOST IMP POINT: These beds are NOT do-it-yourself! You will spend half a day doing it and need at least 2 strong friends! PLUS, they expect you to carton-pack the bed you want to return!! We spent 3500 rupees cajoling carpenters to first come and assemble the bed, then dismantle first bed and open crates of the replacement and then re-pack the half-opened crate.
Forget the money, it took 4 days to find a carpenter willing to come and do this. A GOOD WORD ABOUT THEIR HELPDESK - Suhaani, Akram, Al, Chitra are all very polite and tried their best to help. Manager Raj bothered to call once and took some responsibility. However, this chap called Manager Pradeep seems to be the busiest man in the e-comm universe right now, wont call back and cant be located! I HAVE ORDERED ANOTHER BED FROM FABFURNISH AND THAT CAME BANG ON TIME (8DAYS) AND GOT PUT UP WITH MINIMAL FUSS. SO THIS SEEMS LIKE A PEPPERFRY PROBLEM.
