Beware all you guys & gals out here. Here’s a product, recently churned from the great PepsiCo – Pepsi Café Chino.
Fine, this product is not as bad as one of its ad model – Kareena Kapoor – but it is no good either. Having done that mistake of drinking it, I would advise you all those who are reading this to be away from this drink.
Firstly, I don’t understand as to why they have to include the word Café in this product. I believe all those who have ever tasted this awful drink would agree to the fact that there is no trace of coffee in this drink.
To give you an idea of the taste, try recollecting of the age old candy, which most of us must have enjoyed in the good old school days – Rola Cola. Well, Café Chino tastes nothing but liquid version of this. & I failed to get any taste of coffee in this drink. Rola Cola tasted good as a candy but in liquid avatar, it tastes awful. & ½ a liter of it seems like a punishment.
To worsen the effect, it leaves a taste of a pesticide in your mouth. Not that I have ever tasted a pesticide, but I’m sure, it would taste as bad as this. & the after taste in the mouth reminded me of the smell most of the normal pesticides leave, after being sprayed.
Moreoever, the taste does not qualifies to even go along with any hard drink like Whiskey.
Another thing which I fail to understand is as to why do cola companies have to roll out different avatars of cola? I mean, in a tropical climate like India, cola’s would sell right away. The basic choice may vary, in the sense that some prefer Cola based drinks while others prefer Citrus flavored drinks (like Sprite, Mirinda et al) while an entire set of soft drinkers would prefer other fruit based drinks (like Mangola).
But demand for these soft drinks has remained (& I guess, it will remain) more or less huge, except for the intermittent campaigns which claim that cola drinks are no better than toilet cleaners et al.
All in all, I wouldn’t advise anyone to go & waste any moolah on this drink. A simple cola tastes much better than these avatars.
For all those who have already tried Café Chino & differ on my opinion, you all are welcome to log in your comments for the same.
Comments – brickbats or bouquets – from all, are welcome.
