Aha

One of Americas favorite soft drinks, Pepsi-Cola, didn’t make it to the Taste test stage ... several times. The ability of the product to survive several bankruptcies, numerous management changes, and major internal squabbles made it an even stronger player in the bid for consumer taste acceptance.

In the year 1893, Caleb Bradham, a young pharmacist from New Bern, North Carolina, began experimenting with many different soft drink concoctions; patrons and friends sample them at his drugstore soda fountain.

In 1898, One of Caleb’s formulations, known as ’’Brad’s Drink, ’’ a combination of carbonated water, sugar, vanilla, rare oils and cola nuts, is renamed ’’Pepsi-Cola’’ on August 28, 1898. Pepsi-Cola receives its frist logo.

In 1902, The instant popularity of this new drink leads Bradham to devote all of his energy to developing Pepsi-Cola into a full-fledged business. He applies for a trademark with the U.S. Patent Office, Washington D.C., and forms the first Pepsi-Cola Company.

The first Pepsi-Cola newspaper advertisements appeared in the New Bern Weekly Journal.

In 1903, ’’Doc’’ Bradham moves the bottling of Pepsi-Cola from his drugstore into a rented warehouse. He sold 7, 968 gallons of syrup in the first year of operation.

Pepsi became a number one soft drink brand in the US and gradually its franchise business started operating giving it great profits.

This shows the stong foundation of the brand and how it has survived so long.

Now for the real comparision between Pepsi and its main competitor -Coke

Do you find any difference between Pepsi and Coke? Many people don’t. They do not mind drinking either brand coz they find both of them having the same taste. But it does have a different taste. What makes me think so?

Have you ever seen someone demand a Pepsi? Have you ever seen someone refuse to drink Coke because the restaurant only had Coke?

Well I do refuse to have Coke. I prefer Pepsi to coke. This is because Pepsi has got taste whereas Coke reminds me more of sugary contaminated water than any taste! Moreover, Coke has more Gas than Pepsi.

I’m a die hard loyal Pepsi consumer who looks forward to a can over a tall glass of ice. After you’ve been out running or exercising in the heat, nothing beats it.

Coke started out with cocaine in it, hence the name Coke. I’ve heard of dying thirst, but not dying while quenching thirst !
