Got an invite from my friend to use this service(https://perfios.com). As someone who tends to keep track of every pie that I earn/spend I am game for anything that can help me.:) So far I have been doing fine with a combination of excel sheet and MS Money but this seems to be interesting.
The good points:
a. This is the first time in India I have seen a service that can automatically fetch my transactions from my banks, equity/mutual fund accounts etc. They claim to support automatic updates from more than hundred financial institutions.
b. Capital gains calculation is never easy and perfios does a decent job of doig it.
c. Excellent reports and dashboard view to understand my financial health.
d. Document upload is possible so helps me keep my transactions and documentary evidences in one place(helps during tax submission!)
e. Excellent statement forwarding and statement uploading feature. All my statements could be uploaded.
The ugly uns!:):
a. The UI needs a lot of tweak. Took a while for me to get around the application. I guess they are aware of it.
b. Being a technologist, I understand and appreciate the fact that they don’t store my passwords on their server but they need to explain it more at their site.
Overall, I would rate them at 8 out of 10.
