The philips 4000 series is somewhat old-fashioned and this model is in no way different from that. When all other manufacturers are running after slim TVs, philips is just way too behind to catch up with them or perhaps philips is reluctant to do so. And this very attitude can be seen clearly in their products. Well coming to this model, ive seen it in my friends house. The design is not at all charming and looks somewhat like the old 90s TV. The sound is somewhat ok. Volume when raised above 50, sound becomes a pain to the ears. Neither is the colour reproduction good. When HD box is connected it produces pictures like WVGA and even sometimes pictures are not so clear. Yes it does posess an USB port and thats perhaps the only modern thing in it.
I strictly dont recommend this to anyone, even if he is my biggest enemy.:)
Do shred out a few more bucks and buy any other model.
