I purchased DVP 3256 from VijaySales for 3290. The choices available were Sony, LG and Samsung. Sony they told may not play all kinds of CDs. Not sure exactly. I guess won’t play region protected DVDs, and pirated copies of copy righted cds. Not sure if it plays CDRs and DVDRs. The other too choices Samsung, LG was not a choice for me because my experience with LG was not good before, now I feel LG something just above a china made stuff. Ruled out Samsung just because its a cousin of LG.
Choice was Philips there were around 4-5 models available. I wanted USB port. Did not want HDTV output. DTS/Dolby was not my priority.
Choice was obvious DVP3256.
I used my 8GB pen drive with lots of random movie files, JPEG images etc. It showed all without any delay in response time. Happy with it.
