Many things are already covered by members in their reviews. So I start with its outputs.

Can be connected to AV Receivers & Stereo Decks having input jacks.
Usually, ’’Composite Video Out’’ (also called CVBS or Baseband) (Yellow Colour) & ’’Left/Right Audio Out’’ is used by most people. Audio and video cables provided for these connections.
Comes with Remote Control & 10CDs free containing Movies with MPEG format. (Beware if someone says that these are DVDs)
Only ’’Play/Pause & Stop’’ buttons are provided on unit itself besides ’’Open/Close & Standby’’ buttons.
Some Imp. Functions: Repeat, Repeat(A-B), Zoom, Preview, Subtitle, Display, DVD camera angle etc.
All the controls are explained with some detail which is sufficient for viewers.
Can play MP3, JPEG, MPEG-4, DivX and normal CDs/DVDs, SVCDs, CD-R(W), DVD+R(RW), Can’t play WMA files
Can upgrade it’s software by using a CD-R.
Looks: Not very pleasing especially at front. The front panel is very light sky blue in colour with plastic finish.
The plastic finish should have been done with and metal body that would have given it a good look.
Front side also has a MIC input and Level Control Button which in turn increased its Width to 435mm.
Although, overall body is slim. Width: 435mm, Height: 43mm, Depth: 248mm
I am also not quite sure that how many of us will use its ’’Karaoke’’ function. Although, things like ’’Mike Level’’, ’’Echo’’, ’’Key Tone to match your voice’’, ’’Fade Vocal’’ etc. are provided to play with.
It has a similar model ( model no. 642 without 5.1 audio & without DivX/MPEG4 ) which has karoke inputs located on side of the box which reduces its width considerably and provides it a better look.
Don’t expect DVD to start playing CD/DVD instantly as a VCR cassette. It needs time to read the index, then everything goes fine.
Maximum FF speed is 8X, which is sometimes annoying/vexing.
Don’t expect it to play every scratch disc, though it can play many. I have heard that only ONIDA DVD players play scratch discs but don’t trust me on that.
Can be made Zone Free as told by Dealer, (I have not met anyone who is watching all zone movies on this player to prove that it’s Zone Free).
My advise, if you have DVDs made in US/UK etc., please take them along with you when you are going to buy any DVD player. Play it and check it there itself.
Don’t trust the Dealer.
I must admit that I am not totally impressed by this product. Sometimes it seizes to perform a function such as FF, then you have to reload the disc and everything goes fine. Sometimes, it even comes to standby on its on if you press any key repeatedly, may be the case of bad ’’Error Handling’’?? I don’t expect the lens to be dirty as it’s a new unit. Still it’s better than SONY at present.
