My new Philips 530

New Philips 530 with camera and FM.

I have purchased new Philips 530 in January 2004. Before deciding to change to it from my old Mitsubishi Trium Aria, I have done a lot of research and comparison. My budget was 12k and I’ve zeroed onto Motorola E365, Sony Eriksson T610 and Philips 530. After spending a week in comparing the main features I’m looking for. I found out 530 fared better and scored higher from both of its contemporaries.

The only feature that le530 down from other two, is its screen size. Otherwise, it has the best value for money in comparison to the other two. Both T610 and E365 don’t have BeDJ feature which I feel is a very powerful and versatile in editing existing ring tones. 530 also has FM which is not there in other two. With FM recording and voice recording feature it is quite flexible and versatile to edit and make any kind of ring tone. You need not to pay for downloading ring tones. 530’s Irda port is also very helpful in getting new ring tones and images. I have downloaded thousands of ring tones from the Internet and keep on changing them quite often.

Other mentionable feature is its body cover which is covered with scratch proof aluminum sheet. Thus it doesn’t requires any plastic cover which at times reduces the beauty of the phone. Voice clarity is crystal clear. reception is of highest quality. Its 360 degree rotatable camera is also very handy, which is also a unique feature as compared to other two contemporaries. Over all I am very satisfied and impressed with the cell. I do recommend it to others. Only down side is it is not Java enabled so I don’t think it is possible to add new apps or games to it. It has only one game.
