Hera Pheri, released six years ago, was one of the greatest hits of this decade. It was liked by everyone-from seven year old to seventy year old! It set a new trend for the comedy movies in Bollywood. And now, six years later, comes its sequel! And this one is also quite entertaining!!
The story of the movie: Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty) and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal) had become rich after getting Rs 40 lakhs from Devi Prasad (Khulbhushan Kharbanda). From that money, they buy a bungalow with a swimming pool. Baburao purchases a gold spectacle. One day Raju came to knew about Laxmi Chit Fund. This company had a scheme where one has to invest money and in 21 days one would get double the money invested. But the minimum amount for investing is Rs 1 crore! Raju, Shyam and Baburao had 30 lakhs with them-they still needed 70 lakhs. Raju then conned Pappu (Rajpal Yadav) and dumped him of 20 lakhs. He also managed to get the remaining 50 lakhs. Then they gave this money to Anuradha (Bipasha Basu), who worked in Laxmi Chit Fund. She told the trio to come to their office after 21 days. At that time Raju, Shyam and Baburao didn’t knew what shock and horror they are going to get after 21 days! What follows next is a hilarious, exciting and a roller coaster ride which would surely make you laugh!
Akshay Kumar is fantastic this time! He never disappoints in any of his movies. He is getting used to the comedy movies and therefore it has become easier for him to act in comedy movies. Keep it up Akki!
Suniel Shetty doesn’t disappoint too! But he had little to do in this movie. But though, he gives a fine performance.
Paresh Rawal steals the show! His entry in the movie made everyone laugh in the theatre! He acts brilliantly and succeeds in making the viewers laugh! Marvellous!
Sexy Bipasha Basu has very little to do in the whole movie. But though, she has an important part in the movie. Her performance was good. Rimmi was perfect.
Jhonny Lever as Munna was funny, especially in the end. Sharat Saxena, as totla Tiwari was hilarious. Ravi Kissan was okay. Rajpal Yadav acts very properly this time. Milind Gunaji and Manoj Joshi were okay. Dinesh Hingoo was as usual funny.
Suniel Pal, the laughter challenge winner, has very little to do in the movie. He was in Jhonny’s gang and throughout the movie, he just stood behind Jhonny. He didn’t even have a word to speak. I wonder, what was the need for his character then??
Only 2 songs are great-Yaad Satayi Teri and Jumme Raat. The rest, except ‘Indian Ruppiya’ didn’t suit the mood of the movie. Himesh Reshammiya’s music is as usual.
Neeraj Vora’s dialogues were funny and witty! Velraj’s cinematography was okay and nothing great to talk about.
Neeraj Vora’s direction is quite good. He manages to laugh and brings alive the viewer’s memories of Hera Pheri. He even repeats some of the unforgettable humorous events of Hera Pheri to set the mood. Excellent!
The climax was funniest and would surely make everyone laugh.

On the whole, Phir Hera Pheri is not exactly the same like Hera Pheri but its quite entertaining and a paisa vasool entertainer. If you are gonna watch Phir Hera Pheri, you should follow Cticize’s advice-‘Leave your thinking caps home’!
