SURPRISENLY, SENSITIVLY GOOD

As usual, tv gets boring in the summer evenings!Knowing that a hindi movie was airing, i decided to take a look. The film was Phir Milenge!

The smooth and sensitive climax catches you from the start and you see your self following the story with interest, even my mother, who is not at all keen of hindi movies, stopped to watch it!

The story of Phir Milenge is the story of Tamana, a modern working woman who has seen her self dissmissed from her job by her boss because she was HIV positive, after being infected by her lover who ignored to be a HIV positive him self.Tamana decided to fight for her job, for her life and to face the rejection of the society, and even the rejection of her own lawyer at the begining, because of the ignorance and the missunderstood of her state.

The movie explains how we can be affected, litterally, by the choices we made in our lives but also informs that we must take our responsabilities of these choices , something that can’t be possible without the acceptance and the help of the society!Though the story remembers us of the famous Tom Hanks sida flick(i forgot the title), i beleive that the hindi version was far more entertaining and less shocking and was well handled by the director.

The sensible and yet powerful performance of the actors was the surprise of the package.Salman was as usual entertaining and got his facial expressions right.Abishek was quit good and his natural act was charming. The supporting cast was effective. But it’s Shilpa that steals the show. There were no fackery , no overacting in her performance. She scores high when she talks, when she cries and when she was silent and her body language was almost perfect!this is with no doubt her best performance ever!

The value of Phir Milenge is his simplicity and yet sensibility in exposing such a serious and taboo subject without the usual overdose of melodrama of Bollywood flicks.it’s a warning call and a message of hope that Phir Milenge send.

In the whole phir milenge is a rare attempt the diserves all our respect!

A must watch for all !
