Soft and romantic music

Alright Salman Khan is hot property these days. His soundtracks have also been doing well except for ?Garv?. Is this soundtrack the same quality like ?Tere Naam?? ?Phir Milenge? also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Shilpa Shetty in the lead roles.Salman Khan is being repeated by Revathy. She is the director with whom he worked in his early days in ?Love?. South Indian Directors always want a feel of South Indian Music in their films.

Of course, Shankar Mahadevan with his two other buddies Ehsaan and Loy (SEL) fit the bill to compose here.Well while SEL cannot compose all type of songs, Nikhil-Vinay came to the rescue of one song. But there is one more music director, Bhavatha Raja who composed 3 tracks. Why? Well may be the director wants to give a chance to the 2000 struggling music directors who come to see him.

Shankar Mahadevan starts the album with ?Jeene Ke Ishaare? .The acoustic guitar and the unusual instruments start this album which makes it very pleasing.Shankar Mahadevan shows that he is a good singer. The arrangement is superb.Defintely, a soothing song with some excellent lyrics by Prasoon Joshi. The song is very fresh and a must-listen to all S-E-L fans out there.

Now a masala song for the masses who like Salman Khan. ?Beetab Dil? comes with the dholak, the tabla and the flutes. So we know that Nikhil-Vinay is around now and the ?kasam-sanam-vaada? words by who else, but Sameer! Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal render this one. Overall, the tune is pretty much the types of ?Tum Bin? ones and a rehash of some old ?Anu Malik? songs in the 90s. An average song on the whole but pleasing at the same time. I think that Sameer should start writing lyrics without the word ?sanam? now. If Nikhil-Vinay want to go further in their career, they need to get out the of ?Tum Bin? trap. There is also a sad version of this song which is just there to fill the album. It is sung by Sonu Nigam.

’Yaad Hai Wo Pehli Mulaqat? is by Abhijeet. It?s just a slower version of the ?Jeene Ke Ishaare? track.Though Abhijeet is very rare but he is singing all his songs in the ?Chalte Chalte? type mood. This song has a nice chorus which makes it more listenable. There also some nice orchestration with bits of tabla, saxophone and flute. A song to appreciate if listened at night or in a quiet environment, like I am now! Lyrics are worth a mention here. His voice sounds so fresh and cannot be compared to Shankar Mahadevan, who has a different voice.

The ?Zara Zara? (RHTDM) singer, Bombay Jayshree, is next with ’Khul Ke Muskurale?.She shows some great singing in this one and the mood of the song is the same type of ?Zara Zara?.It might be a ?Zara Zara 2?. The song is relaxing and peaceful in a way. Orchestration is good with some nice instruments. A repeat for me. Bhavathi Raja composed this track.

’Khushiyon Ki Koshish? starts very much in a South Indian flavour and sounds very South Indian. Sung by Srinivas and Mahalaxmi, this song will be appreciated by those who like South Indian melodies. Composed by SEL, nothing much to write here. Music is ok and lyrics are average.

Some nice electronic piano and modern western instruments give ’Kuchh Pal? the right start. The song bears a lot of resemblance to ?Chupke Se Sun? in Mission Kashmir. However this song is composed by Bhavathi Raja while Mission Kashmir was composed by SEL.Vijay Yesudas lends his voice here. A slow song with a very South Indian feel to it again. The orchestration is well coordinated and once again, a nice melody. Very nice lyrics here. A song worth to listen several times.

The title track ?Phir Milenge? is composed by Bhavathi Raja and sung by Vijay Yesudas and Febi. The singers just sing the two words and there is nothing much to write about it. It?s only for a minute or so.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy show that they are improving with each album. ?Rudraksh? was an album with great sounds and fantastic melodies. Here they come with modern instruments and beautifully composed melodies. Nikhil-Vinay adds a masala romantic song which is enjoyable and stands out among the ?South Indian? melodies. The album is an above average one because there are a variety of singers who have done a great job.

The three music directors were very focused on the songs they composed. Except for Sameer, Prasoon Joshi shows how fresh lyrics can make a song stand out from the rest. With hummable songs, great music arrangements and wonderful lyrics, this album will give a big boost to this movie.
