Piku is a comedy film directed by Shoojit Sircar is somewhat what we call a So-So Movie. Piku as the name sounds is “Dak naam” or a Pet name of a Bengali girl(Deepika Padukone) who has lost her mother and now is living his father Mr. Bhaskor(Amitabh Bachchan), who is a sufferer of chronic constipation and has done his due diligence of his constipation problems which at times leads to quarrels & light fights with the persons around him.
The films becomes exciting when Piku wants to sell her ancestral house in Kolkata and her father objects to sell it and he want to go to Kolkata and here comes Rana Chaudhary(Irfan Khan) as a Driver of a car who droves daughter and the father, along with a servant, all the way from Delhi to Kolkata. On the way they faces many problems including Rana getting angry with Mr. Bhaskor for his behavior related to constipation.
Deepika as Piku, was perfectly fitted in her character and so with Amitabh Bachchan and Irfan. The other supporting actors like Jishu Sengupta, Raghubir Yadav and Mousumi Chatterjee were also good.
The director being Bengali knows the small little things happening in a typical bengali family.Overall the movie is entertaining.
