Pink

Pink joint all Indians out of their typical thinking - even in these so-called liberated times - as far as sexual stereotyping is concerned. However, this is not done in a loud and brazen manner, but with subtle and minimalistic use of drama that will at times leave us seething in impatience, as we are so used to the dispensation of poetic justice in the filmi style. Despite the inverse plotting to build up the suspenses which holds up the negative flow in tge beginning, the hard-hitting courtroom scenes make up for all the minor loopholes ( in the form of incosequential fillers) at the end of the cathartic viewing.

The three female leads, Kriti Kulhari is the most brilliant in all of her scenes. Taapsee Pannu, too, shines in the court confronation where she gets to mouth some awesome lines in defence her charater’s lifestyle. Meghalaya girl Andrea Tariang goes with the flow. The bonding among is the highlight of the film. Angad Bedi as tge educated male chauvinist is also convincing. Piyush Mishra as the bumbling lawer is good too. But the ultimate show stealer is of course Amitabh Bachchan whoes name appears after those of the three frmale protagonists in the credits. It is really a wonder that there is still so much acting left in him. But why are filmmakers lately making him look so old with atrocious hairdos when he looks so dapper and energetic in the TV reality shows that he appears in?

Nobody, however, feels for the music scored by Shantanu Moitra, Anupam Roy and Faiza Mujahid.
