The player certainly has some of the best features like multi region playing capability and multi system option at this price level. But still it has some negative points in playing vcds and mp3. The player is unable to play mp3 recordred in VBR which most of the philips player accepts. Copied or nero burn vcds sometime make a lot of trouble in seamless shifting from one file to another and the user need to select the track each time. No doubt it is much superior in sound quality and picture compared to any brand sold in india at this price range. Sometimes it also rejects few of dvds which are accepted by some cheap players. But anyway ignoring the facts of its poor capability to play mp3 in vbr and some song vcds etc. if one would like to stick to only dvds may be with high end decoder to take care of digital output from this player and a tv having capability to explore its progressive scan features or at least the component video output, then certainly it is the best out of so many floating in market. One must agree that pioneer has reduced the quality of its optical pickup as compared to dv266 and dv 366 versions which are out of its product line now because of higher cost. If one has a choice, Dv 373 must be prefered over dv270 though both are at the same price thrown in indian market.
