Piya Ka Ghar-a review

Title Track Singer: Alka Yagnik

Piya Ka Ghar is one of the most interesting and commendable Hindi serials on Zee TV. The show depicts the life of a girl, Rimjhim (Narayani Shastri) whose father (Prabhu Dayal) is the best friend of Bhavani Shankar Sharma (Alok Nath), and dies of cancer.   This leaves Rimjhim homeless, but Bhavani welcomes her into his home (Sukh Shanti Sadan). It is here that Rimjhim starts to acquaint herself with all the members of the family, as well as try to win the affections of her Piya (Avinash-Vishal Puri now played by Sanjay Mitra), and tries her best to get along with Bhavani’s wife, Irawati (Suhasini Muley), who simply hates Rimjhim.   Irawati’s main reasons for hating Rimhim is based on the alleged thought that Prabhu Dayal was involved in her sister committing suicide. This is the main idea behind Piya Ka Ghar. Rimjhim encounters the ups and downs in life, but is the only one out of the family who smiles and comforts the family, thereby forgetting about her own needs. Rimjhim is truly a admirable character, whose unselfishness and smile leaves an impression on the viewer. The commendable performances by Prachi Shah as Yashoda Bhabhi, Malini’s (Amita Chandekar) psychotic behavior and the Chachaji’s (Narendra Gupta) evil, and despicable nature, make the serial more appealing. A recent edit to this post: Malini is shot by Rimjhim 6 times in the effort to save her daughter, Megha from danger. She is sentenced to 14 years in prison. Most recent edit: Piya ka ghar has now ended. The show finished with Rimjhim being diagnosed with cancer and then dying. The concluding episode ends where Avinash lights Rimjhim’s funeral pyre.
