I have almost resorted to begging for someone, anyone to get me a decent pizza. I can’t speak for all Pizza Hut locations but in my general area, the end product is absolutely horrible.
The Pan Pizza
When the Pan Pizza was first introduced, it quickly became my favorite. You could count on the crust to be crispy on the bottom but soft enough to eat without ripping your mouth to shreds. The toppings were always plentiful and the cheese melted to perfection.
Unfortunately, now I can count on the Pan Pizza to be soft and greasy both on bottom and on top. The toppings are still plentiful but in huge chunks and the cheese is usually just melted enough to be considered done.
The Stuffed Crust
My biggest disappointment with a new product from Pizza Hut was the Stuffed Crust Pizza. I am a cheese lover so was excited when they introduced this new pizza with cheese baked right in the crust.
When it arrived, the crust was done but the cheese ring that surrounded the outer edge of the crust was cold inside. It was similar to eating hunks of string cheese.
The New Yorker
This has been the only pizza that was semi-satisfying from their new line. The crust is thin and crispy, cut into small squares. The sauce is a little different than their other pizzas and seems to have a sweeter taste.
I tend to stick to one or two toppings on this pizza and have not YET had a problem with the quality or taste in this pizza.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, I think Pizza Hut has declined in the quality of their food. Years ago, their toppings were much smaller and the employees seemed to take more pride in providing quality food.
Again I can’t speak for all Pizza Hut restaurants but have been dissatisfied with my dining experience at the local restaurants. Sadly, Pizza Hut was my favorite restaurant in the 70’s and 80’s but like other chain restaurants there seems to be a decline in overall quality.
