Plan - Yeh Kya ho Gaya Sanjay Ko???

I liked Kaante a lot but after that Plan?! It is a very mediocre film, doesn’t look like that Sanjay, who made Kaante, is also involved in the making of this movie. Even the other Sanjay, who did a splendid job in Munnabhai, looked so very ordinary! I have a feeling this Bhai thing is going a bit too much. I hope people don’t start considering Bhaigiri as an alternative career choice. Coming back to the movie, almost everything is very very ordinary. Even the songs!

The story goes like this - Four guys leave their hometown for Bombay for no good reason. Here, they have a supposedly gala time till they run out of money and then they, in their naivety, kidnap the biggest goon of the city. The goon, at the same time, has run out of his loyalist and find a new set of loyalist in the form of these four guys. Then he fights out the other big goon of the city and, in the end, wins. Ooooof! What a story?

But it’s not that the only story is poor, but the direction, as well, is sub normal. There have been instances of good movies emerging out of poor stories. But, unfortunately this movie is not one of them. It seems that the director just wanted to ride the wave of Bhai movies, without making any personal efforts. Moreover, he has unnecessarily put some outrageous scenes, under the cover of portraying reality. There is no cohesiveness in the movie. Some scenes come out of nowhere, without any proper background what-so-ever. This happens especially in the scenes involving the girls. To be very frank, the director has used girls in this movie as a showcase in a real sense. They come, sing a song, and are not to be seen for a good hour at least, not even as a moral support to the heroes!Songs come out of nowhere and are not even iota percentage as good as they were in Kaante.

It seems director wanted to rely on the personal charm of some of the character in the movie, but even the personal charm of people, like Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Manjerekar, has failed to impress. Good acting for bad cause can’t be liked much; as a result, acting also looks ordinary. The four guys - Dino, Sanjay Suri, Rohit Roy and Bikram Saluja have not been able to make an impact at all. I think Dino should quit acting and should concentrate on his affair with one Ms Mahatani. Why unnecessary waste time? Sanjay Suri, who acted so well in Jhankar Beats and Pinjar, was looking completely out of sync in the movie. Probably, his personality doesn’t match for the role he played in the movie. Rohit Roy never looked good to me in the TV Serials, there is no way I would have liked him on the big screen. Though, I found him impressive in his short role in LOC. Bikram Saluja was the only one, whom I found decent. It seems, he has a good future in the industry. Girls were non existent so no use discussing them.

All in all, movie is a complete waste of time. If u really have lots of time to kill, just go to the Zoo and watch the animals. The effect is gonna be the same, at much lesser financial damage.
