Do you remember the stylish, action, film ”Kaante”?Did you like it?Then, there is ”Plan”, for you.This is a very stylish, action film, which might remind you of ”Kaante”.The film has been in news for such a long time.This film was announced during the iifa awards 2002.Then, there was a change of starcast in this film.Isha Koppikar, was replaced, and then another actress was also relaced.This one is produced by Sanjay Gupta, who was the director of ”Kaante”.With, an interesting storyline, does the film do justice to the story, and its starcast?
THE FILM:
White Feather films. ”Plan”, directed by Hriday Shetty, stars Sanjay Dutt, Dino Morea, Bikram Saluja, Sanjay Suri, Rohitt Roy, Mahesh Manjrekar, Priyanka Chopra, Payal Rohatgi and Riya Sen.With the trailers telling, everyone that this is something different, is it different, or a ‘plan’, to cheat the viewers?
THE CHARACTERS AND PERFORMANCES:
1.Musabhai(Sanjay Dutt):Musabhai, is an underworld don, who is very stylish, with hair mascara applied on his hair and leather suits, are his outfits.Sanjay Dutt, as Musabhai, is as usual, very impressive.After all, he is the best ’bhai’ of Bollywood.Wasn`t he Munna ‘bhai’, in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S?Wasn`t he a don in Vastaav, Kaante etc.He is a specialist at such roles.With this film, he excels.Although, he looks a bit old, but his outfits help him no to look aged.His new look, is cool, and his performance is the best, in this film.I couldn`t imagine anyone else than Sanju baba, in this role.
2.Bobby(Dino Morea):Bobby, wants to be a filmstar.He believes that he is the future of India.A very ‘filmi’, character, to be true.Dino Morea, has improved a lot, as an actor.Although, his last film ”Ishq Hai Tumse”, was a great disappointment, but this one is not.His first scene with his father is also very funny.
3.Lucky(Sanjay Suri):Lucky loves to gamble, as he is a genius at gambling.He wants to get lots of money, through gambling.Sanjay Suri, is another excellent performer.For the first time, he comes with such a different hairstyle, and overall look, in a film.He does full justice to his role.
4.Jai(Bikram Saluja):Jai, has come to Mumbai, to find out his love, in Mumbai, to get her back.In Hindi, we can say that this is ”Pyaar Mohabbat Ka Lafda”.Bikram Saluja, who had no release for a long time after ”Fiza”, has come back.He was there in ”LOC Kargil”, but couldn`t get a lengthy role.In this film, even he does a sincere job.
5.Omi(Rohitt Roy):Omi, has been sent to Mumbai, by his father, to take revenge from the person who stole his (father`s) money.Rohitt Roy, as Omi, is also good.As a newcomer (I saw him in ’LOC’, though), he does a decent job.
Mahesh Manjrekar, doesn`t impress the viewers much, because of his half-baked character.Priyanka Chopra, has to dance and overact, and that`s all about it.Payal Rohatgi, and Sameera Reddy, have only one thing to do which is-skin show.Can we expect something sensible from Riya Sen?She doesn`t get much scope, nor does the viewer miss her.
THE STORY:
Four boys, Omi, Lucky, Jai and Bobby come to Mumbai, with their own dreams.When they are in the train, they meet a person who reads their faces, and tells them, that they have a bright future.One day, Lucky loses in a gamble and he and his friends have to pay the person, the amount of money they lost.They PLAN, to kidnap, a very rich businessman, whom they saw in a club.Luckily, they kidnap him, but matters become even worse.The person, whom te four boys had thought, was a very rich businessman, turns out to be a don, an underworld don, Musabhai.Then starts a ride of a rollercoaster.
THE WORK OF THE CREW:
Hriday Shetty`s, direction is brilliant.As a debutante, he does his job well.The scene, where the boys learn that Musa is a don, shows how good a director is Hriday Shetty.Screenplay, is gripping.Right from the start, where the viewers are introduced to the 4 boys, the film gets griping.But somewhere, in the second half, the film loses its grip, a bit.Editing, is the problem, with the second half of the film.Or there are songs, or there are unnecessary scenes of the actresses.In the first half, editing is crisp, and the film moves very fast, just at the right pace!Cinematography, is of standard.You can see this film through the right angle, because of the cinematography.Special effects, are also amazing.Milap Zhaveri`s, dialogues are very suitable, for a film like, this one.Anand Raaj Anand`s, music is good.”Pyaar Aaya”, ”Aanewaala Pal” and ”Hota Hai Pyaar”(which comes as a speed breaker in the film), are the best of the lot.
ON THE WHOLE:
”Plan”, is a film for all the action lovers around.With an interesting storyline, sincere performances, and amazing special effects, this film is worth watching.This is the most stylish flick, from Bollywood, in the recent times.This is pure fun, and entertainment.A complete roller-coaster ride!
