Dear White Fellow

This opinion is more based on the theme of ’’Racism’’, it is rather difficult to categorise this op as it is heavily influenced by a poem I once read which in my view expresses the way I feel about race in a way which is comical and hypocritical.

My general view on Racism is that it is wrong and although I’m not a very religious person, I believe god has placed people of different colours as well as shapes and sizes on earth for a good purpose although it may not be clear on times especially for others. This is my first op with regards to such a topic as I mostly write about Music and products but I felt that I needed to express my feelings.

Recently, I came upon a Poem I read a while ago and feel that this poem sums up my opinion perfectly.

The Poem is entitled ’’Dear White Fellow’’

When I was born I was black

When I grew up I was black

When I get sick I am black

When I get scared I am black

When I choke I am black

But You White Fellows

When you are born you were pink

When you grow you are white

When you get sick you are green

When you get scared you are yellow

When you choke you are blue

When you get embarassed you are red

and when you die you are purple

AND YOU’VE GOT THE CHEEK TO CALL ME COLOURED!

I think this sums it all up dont you?
