It all depends on your reporting person you have. If he is not confident or technically not sound or trying to project only him or egoistic or sitting there for 10 yrs you ar gone, that too if you are self-respected. People who are there for years together don’t want to give their hard earned knowledge for all these years. That they think as job security or hiding the information does keep our dependncy always on them and dosen’t loose their importance.

Yes, if you are put for many yrs same project, it will be tough for you to update your knowledge apart from that, that too if you have become comfortable with what you have. I have seen people sitting on same project for 10 yrs, yes same project. Surely coming as a fresher or even with experience, you can’t outstand this person as he would have gained full support.

Professionalism is a total miss. When you ask for your rating, the normal procedure is they have to ask you, "how you rated yourself like this" and then have to explain why they have not given. But your questions were humiliated here rather than answered. And there were even demotivating speech like "you were not technically stronger than that X", "Shall I keep a test for you ". I am a 6+ yrs experience, strongly proven ina much bigger company. I felt as if stepped on a s**t. I have a bigger story to explain at a better time.
