Saturday night....n I am sittin home writing reviews.....Nahhhhh....All thanx to my friends who have their TOEFL exams comin up ......well there’s always a next weekend...;))...
So I decide to atleast re-live my last week’s trip to POLLY’s.....Firstly the name is Polly Esther’s and not polyesters as many believe it to be....
Location
This place is located at colaba...right above Gordon House...in case you don’t know where gordon house is; take the first left at Cafe Mondegar and there you are.....There’s ample car parkin too...so no worries on that count...
Now lets come to the actual club...Don’t really know when this place came up...but I have been pretty regular at this place for last 8 months or so...was really lookin out for nice place to unwind especially ever since Fire closed down...(my one-time favourite club.......plsss start it again)...Thank God I found this place....
It closes at around 3.00 in the nite....so no moral policing around....party late into the nite.....
Cost
The best part about Polly’s is that it ain’t that heavy on the wallet...A nite out for a couple(a week nite) won’t cost you more than 1000 bucks(cover is just 800 a couple)....I’ve been to places like INSoMNIA n Squeeze n Ra.....and trust me those places really burn a trench in ur wallet....The bloody cover for Ra is 2 grands...n goes further up on saturday nites and plus the extra booze...So on that count Polly’s is a winner...
Crowd
As far as the crowd is concerned, this place has a nice blend of young teenie yuppies(was one til a year back...LOL), young professionals n u might just bump into some channel V VJ’s....some of them are regulars....There’s amazin energy in this place ...No cheapskates here.....the types u see at Madness and J49.
Plus there are no ’’america return’’ wannabes...the types u see in provogue lounge.....it’s just normal people like u n me
Music
The music is ROCKIN!!!!! It’s for all tastes....On wednesdays the DJ plays Brit-Asian ...N also some Hindi et Punjabi tracks....BUt MOst of the week it’s ROCKIN RETRO!!!!....Saturday’s are for all kinda music....
The dance floor is really BIG....But the only disadvantage is that there’s no place to sit...This is where INSOMNIA scores over Polly’s...It’s got loads n loads of lounge space....but then who goes to a club to sit n chill...we have pubs for that....!
Comparisons
If u ask me I would say Polly’s is one of the best in Mumbai rite now..it is really becomin a rage on the circuit now.......It’s the perfect place to party on those last weekends of a month when u r runnin low on ur allowance....otherwise too it rockssss...U can really compare it with say a Enigma or say a Insomnia and it would still be right up there...
So all u fellow clubbers.......Go n chill.....hope to catch up wit some of u’ll next friday nite....seriously in case any of u’ll plannin to club at Polly’s next friday do let me know....
