My sister and I watched this movie when we were very young, and it still remains one of our favorite movies (along with its sequels). Its really great at giving you a good scare, no matter how many times you see it. Heather O Rourke plays Carol Ann, who gets taken away by poltergeists so she can lead them into the light. Her family communicates with her through their TV and hires professionals to try and get her back. This is a great horror flick, but not a slasher movie. It has some really good special effects especially for its time, and its theme song is so sad and eerie and nostalgic for those of us who saw this movie when we were younger. For some reason whenever I watch this trilogy I almost get a little sad during them. I think the movies do have sort of a sad undertone, along with its scariness, which makes this trilogy really stand out.
