Popcorn ke naam se nafrat ho gai

Sleek promos, cool songs and amazingly hot looking babes all of this promised to be the right recipe for a terrific film for the Generation ’Z’, but when one saw the movie, it came out as a rude shock like a ride on the Mumbai potholed roads.

One kept hoping against hope that finally somewhere something would come as a release from the mental torture that the film is, he was indeed mistaken coz it kept going from bad to worse.I am sorry if m sounding so sarcastic about ’popcorn’ but trust me its even bad then that.

The Plot... Phew..give me a break..did someone say PLOT!!!..the movie just doesnt have a plot..its basically some crap tangled together to weave a 2 1/2 disaster.Akshay plays a confused meek character who wants to be the next RD Burman in Bollywood..and he doesnt know how he will do it..so in a fit of rage he decides to come to MayaNagari with just a guitar and his songs. The director doesnt feel its important to let us know how he bumps into Deepak Tizori, who plays the Producer giving Akshay his big break.

Rashmee plays Deepak daughter, who is going to decide if Akshay gets to be the music director or not. Taneesha is Askhay’s college buddy and truly deeply madly in love with him while Akshay is after Rashmi who also happened to be in the same college. The college masti scenes are far from funny, the director has no clue what he wants to do when leaving the audience scratching their head with disgust as the film unfolds.

Deepak Tizori doubles up as Akshay’s guruji who keeps giving him gyan through ’i dont know what net’ and those sequences are the most irritating of the lot.

As all hindi movies Rashmi somehow manages to fall for Akshay and Akshay basically doesnt know as always what to do.Finally like all good old hindi movies somehow Akshay and Taneesha have a happy fairytale ending..how it works out no one knows..!!

Taneesha plays an insignifact role, the movie basically belongs to Akshay and Rashmi. All in all a totally useless movie...it is movies such as these that make the viewer feel cheated after paying so much to go through the ordeal.

The director, producer and the entire crew should be held responsible for such garbage, they have some responsibility towards the audience also one feels. The only saving grace in the film is the music which just rocks..definitely very neatDuppatta beimaan has been sung well by Sunidhi as always, Le Chale, Kal se Koi, O Solemiya, Dooriyan all of those have been done well...great music all in all.

What a shame that the movie doesnt live up to its expectations.
