The third genrestion boxster was unaunced in the 13th of march 2012 at the geneva auto show with seal strting early summer 2012 .
The new boxster reflects the new disign language from the 911 and 918 and features new and revised enging and transmission specification .
Together with a new body the type 981 boxster feature a new classic 40 per cent more torssionly rigid the front track 40mm woder the rear 18mm wider and the wheelbase extended by 60 mm but all resutting in a small weight reduction of up to 35 kg compered to the preview 987 boxster. The standard boxster is fitted with a new 2.7 liter but with revised performance .Both engine are equipped with a 6 speed manual gearbox and an 7 speed reworked PDK. Both maunal and automatic models are avelaible with severl tacnical opstion including porsche tprque vectoring and a sport chorno packege that including active transmision mouth and makes the PDK equipped model even faster . Porsche clamins that the new genration boxter provides fuel saving of 15 % over the outgoing model
