MEMORABLE

Visit to Port Blair is incomplete without a visit to Havelock Island. this must be at least for a night. The stay in the islands should be preferably for a period of at least a fortnight. a lesser stay would keep you haunting, for a long long time. The visit to Cellular prison gives the insight into the psyche of the Britishers at the time of occupation of India. Indians were really treated as slaves. No human touch was there.

The stay in Havelock Islands was superb. One has to book in advance, else there would be the problem of stay.

I visited the place in 2001, and feel like visiting it again and again.

The Corals, are another attraction. The journey is also beautiful, and the corals are an experience in itself.

Red skin island is tremendous.

People in Port blair are friendly, honest and helpful.

The commercialisation has started, and may be after sometime the plus points of the visit may be gone. The serenity of the place is being gradually eroded.

I do not know the scenario after the Tsunami. I do hope the gap in time continues. I would love to live there.
