Recently visited Potluck, located in front of Ranka Colony on Banerghatta Road. I went there with one of my friend for a lunch on thursday. I had heard a lot about this place, hence wanted to try it out.
The approach road right now is completely blocked as some huge construction work is going on. You will have to park your car in front of Ranka Colony main gate and will have to walk through the bushes on a narrow lane for around 150-200 meters to reach the place.
The restaurant is functional in a duplex house with sitting ares in living room, dining room and bed rooms. The ambiance is just ok, rather I thought it was slightly too bland. They can definitely make the place look better if they spend some money on interiors.
The seats were comfortable.
They serve only north indian dishes here.
The items were very moderately priced. I can go the extent of saying that it was cheap. We ordered for a buffet(yes.thats what they call it.you have to order a buffet;-)). It was priced at Rs 85/-. It came with Starters, main course and dessert.
For starter we got Alu Pakoda and Shikanzi. For main course we got Phulkas, jeera rice, daal, mutter paneer, alu jeera, paapad, pickles and onions. The taste was avarage. The phulkas were very nice.
For dessert we got moongdal halwa.I personally didnt like it.maybe because I dont like anything that has got ghee in it.
The service was ok till the time I asked for some more daal. I think the waiter forgot to bring it and finally when he did bring it, I was done with my food.
Overall it was a ok place. But right now until the road construction is over, I may not go there.
