In the storyline, it is the Cenozoic Era about 65 million years ago and the earth is ruled by dinosaurs. Every life-sustaining planet in the universe host a life gem which is the source of its abilities. Rita ( Elizabeth Banks) who was formally a Green Ranger want to use the power of the crystal to take over the universe. Protecting the Crystal are Zordan ( Bryan Cranston) and his team who die protecting it not before ordering a meteor strike, which explains the extinction of the dianosour.
In the present day, on the very spot lies Angel Grove a small town. We see Jason Scott ( Dacre Montgomery) , Billi Cranston ( RJ Cyler) and Kimberley ( Naomy Scott) among the other notorious people of the detention.
Through a series of fortunate events Jason, Billy, Kimberley, Zack and trini chance upon the Power Coins which were buried in the aforementioned meteor strike in a gold mine. As all of them try to escape from the mine security, they crash a train. But they somehow survive with abilities like strength and awesome jumping skills. But these Power Coins are not the only things that are unearthed, somewhere in the bottom of the sea Rita wakes up too.
You heart will definitely pumping when you hear the familiar tune of Go Go Power Rangers. Dean has done a fantastic job of keeping the balance between the funnies and giving the Rangers some depth.
