Why are Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta crying foul? *
BCCI banned Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI on grounds of several irregularities in their ownership, transfer of shares, source of funds, etc and underlying reasons and allegations ranging from money laundering to match fixing, fronting some benami sources, FEMA violations, etc
Now Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty take it to the street crying foul. Let’s examine their claims and see the merit
1) 1) We have done nothing wrong. Our papers are clear.*
Recall the shuddering You tube video https://youtube.com/watch?v=ijQ6iP28pWc where Preity Zinta is claiming to be Chairperson, Owner, The Boss, The Boss, The Boss and Yes how can we forget “The girlfriend!. Now when BCCI is asking them why as chairpersons, and board members, entrepreneurs and business women they did not check basic kindergarten contracts, such glaring flaws like - Chairperson with 0 shares… they are crying foul….
2) Brand IPL is impacted *
Brand valuation is of no significance to Cricketers, Viewers, Sponsors, BCCI or Media. The only people impacted by the valuation are these so called owners who wanted to gamble with X crores hoping for 10X. We can excuse the Kings and Royals men folks who may be really interested in cricket but these women folks purely liked the multiplication idea. This is termed Greed. Preity Zinta has been claiming that she is in it for the game – well then watch the game like all viewers, no requirement to be in VIP box or player dressing room.
3) 3) We invested all our money, hard work, passion and everything in IPL*
When did watching a game, jumping, hugging men and getting media bytes and camera crew to interview and glorify start being counted as Hard work?. Thought all this was actually part of leisure activities for 99% of Indians. Poor girls don’t know what hard work is. Ask a typical Indian woman and she will tell you her daily routine - travel in Mumbai trains for once and work in the BMC office and come home and cook and educate the kids. Ofcourse that’s her fault – she did not belly dance or show cleavage /navel but decided to live a decent family life.
4) 4) Why are they in denial and cannot accept the BCCI verdict despite it being after legal opinion?*
A. Desire to go to 10X from X crores. Seems they were naïve that a gamble can also convert Rs X
crores to a ZERO valuation.
B) B. Lost chance for more and more publicity
C) C. With a full and final IPL breakup with Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta would now no longer be able to drag Wadia under one pretext or another. It is said that Zinta’s live-ins/relationships/ alleged linkups etc with Lars and Marc Robinson, Saif, Shekhar Kapur, Brett Lee, Yuvraj, Chatwal, Akash Arora to name a few are known. But the other names can fly a kite, even after 2 years of breakup she still uses the “Ex Wadia Girlfriend “ tag in all her paid press releases. For the poor Ms Zinta, the shock that she will have to start fishing again for someone who is not a lowly cricketer or a lowly actor but a loaded business man is just too much to bear!
As To Ms Shetty well – she was a struggling B grade actor. And then there was a “credit worthy” racial discrimination case, a Richard Gere kiss and some massive media campaigns, resulting in marriage to Kundra and .lo and behold Ms Shetty became rich and respectable Mrs Kundra. But now problem is that she made Mr Kundra invest Rs 80 crores in this IPL horseshit riding on the brand value wagon which thanks to her friend Modi they bought… Now Kundra must be furious. Not a good beginning for a marriage. So here we have Shetty & Zinta crying foul!
5) 5) Has their money really gone?*
Year 1, Year 2 they have evened out. Year 3 they have not paid. Only Kundra lost since he bought the IPL brand value that they so much talk about!
6) 6) Fans are upset*
Which fans? Both Jaipur and Punjab will have new teams and new owners. Besides neither Shilpa nor Preity are from Jaipur or Punjab that their claims are justifiable.
All in all except these two women most others do not lose much. The Kings partners already wanted to exit and even Royal partners have other businesses to care for. The only loss is to these women – they lost their 247 jobs of cheering and leering, hugging and kissing, jumping and acting like business women not knowing the ABCs of cricket or ABCs of contracts.
Their fury, fretting, fuming and frothing is because the easy and fast money dream(see pictures of Preity Zinta with Lalit & Lalit with Shetty) now falls apart like a pack of cards. Now they will have a cut on daily dosage of press releases, flaunting their rocks, bungalows, their mercs, business class travel etc etc unless they find an old man like a Shandar.
Hence this hulla bol. *
But lasses too bad you didn’t know this was real world. Its Btown for you now – where it’s okay to ring the Nasdaq bell and get away saying that you will list a company at Nasdaq, or take a paid 3 day course at Harvard and become learned on contracts and deals, or claim to become an entrepreneur in spas or health clubs which are traditional investments that any Badlani, Samtani or Bhambhani, not to mention Rakhi Savant or Mallika Sherawat.*
