I love Salman Khan(with the statutory warning that I’m perfectly straight), not because he is a great actor, he does not have even a G in that, but because he is funny, even in serious roles and his movies are pure entertainment, but not this one, I regret watching it, literally!
From the looks of it felt as if it was yet another feel good Suraj Barjatya, 90’s style family love story, but it comes off as a rather retarded version of the adorable Prem in a blown Bhansali set. The kind that will bring some tears into any Sanskari Babu’s eyes. not because he essentially loved the movie but because he wasted his precious time and money on it.
The highly conscientious and adorable Prem(though looking old even after all those VFX effects) meets the ideal Princess Maithili and a treacherous Royal household, There is nothing to comment on if acting is considered, the only person with enough screen presence is Bhai, others just fall apart like the pins in a bowling alley. The ever so non existent Sonam Kapoor tries to play the role and show promise in the beginning but falls flat.
I’m sorry, I cannot extend this review too much as I don’t have enough words to waste on this movie. Better not watch it, and if you have watched it once in a theater, make sure you make a cam copy of it and sell its CD’s so that you earn the money back.
