Sooraj Barjatya is one the few modern day filmmakers left who follow a certain formula or style of story telling that is consistent across all his films.
So when Barjatya and Salman reunite after 17 long years during the superstars best ever phase, expectations are sure to be raised high.
The film set in a place called Pritampur with a fractured royal family comprising two brothers and their two step sisters.
The story goes something like this, Vijay played by Salman Khan is the royalprince of Pritampur and Prem also played by Salman Khan is a common man who belives in doing good for people. While Vijay is to get married to princess Maithily it is Prem who is in love with her. Vijay inspite of being a prince has many problems with his family, with his step brother wanting to take on his throne. Destiny takes a turn when Prem gets to live the life of Vijay. After then how Prem tells Maithily the truth and how he resolves Vijays family issues forms the rest of the movie.
Salman as a prince and a common man is out of this world. He woos the audience in every shot with his charm and lovable aura. Sonam is equally good and looks & acts beautifully as a princess. Neil Nitin Mukesh makes a comeback with a blast. His expressions say it all.
Swara Bhaskar is extremely talented and this movie proves it. Deepak Dobriyal, Anupam Kher and Armaan Kohli are impressive and throw a tremendous act.
Sure Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh are guilty of trying too hard to be what they are supposed to be rather than make their characters belivable. But they have no help from the script. The dialouge induce eyerolls and seemed out of palce.
The music has a feel of the late 90s and early 2000s romantic songs. Its definitely different but not interesting at all but look great while watching on big screen.
This is definitely a one time watch if you love the 90s era of typical Rajshri production movies.
