Its a story of a modern-day Cinderella where Mia Thermopolis , a gawky high school freshmen whose bigger concerns are her flat chest and her mom dating her algebra teacher. She’s shocked to know that she is the daughter of a Prince of Genovia ( a European country) , and now a heir to the throne since she has no siblings. And not to forget that she has been crushing on her best friend’s brother - a heartthrob- Michael Mascovitz. All in all it has a plot which is both melodramatic as well as cheesy and it becomes more fun because of Mia’s sass and exasperation .
Overall this book has a feeling of nostalgia and can be considered as a Modern Day Classic . The princess diaries is a fantastic read with a package of drama , humour, chicklit quotient - all a girl could ask for. I think it’s ton of fun to both young as well as the adult readers.
