Priya Cinema is one of the best movie theatres I have ever visited. Whenever there is a new movie, I can only think of one destination to view it which is Priya. It is located near Deshapriya Park and is at the heart of the city. So it is very convenient to go there without any transport problems.
Speaking of the hall, it has only one screen as it is not a multiplex. It is one of the oldest theatres and represents the legacy of 20th century theatres. It is a seating capacity of about 500 seats covering the balcony. The seats are quite comfortable and the lighting and AC is state of the art.The screen is quite big, clear and bright. The theatre uses traditional projectors but the picture quality is fantastic.
The sound quality is simply fabulous. Priya is Kolkata’s first hall with Dolby Atmos sound and the magnificent experience and the visual treat are the main attractions of the hall. And the ticket prices range from 100-150 which is very moderate compared to multiplexes. The tickets can be booked at the counter or online. The hall ambience is very enjoyable. It is ideal to go with friends or family. And the popcorn available here is my personal favourite.
The hall has some negatives. It does not feature 3D films. And there is an infrastructural defect: People sitting at the top seats of the balcony and the back seats of the ground floor have some difficulty in observing the full screen properly. Otherwise Priya is great.
