I went to this well popularized store to buy my most anticipated wedding banarasi. Ended up buying quite a few sarees to add to my trousseau. Took the sarees home only to find that the most treasured benarasi had black specks over it. Checked the invoice for exchange terms. It clearly stated that the exchange needs to happen 7 days before use. Rushed the saree back to the store the next day to get mistreated unnecessarily an unapologetically.
The staff, especially the manager of the Rashbehari Avenue store is extremely arrogant, rude and doesn’t know the first rule about fair dealing with customers. There exchange policies are not clear, not iterated to customers and the customer is not fairly treated even if an expensive saree has black specks all over it.
You might be lucky to get a good saree but if not, it will make it one of your most harrowing experiences in life. I deeply regret having flown down to Kolkata for this. Honestly, there are many other esteemed saree stores in Kolkata which more than make up for their lousy service.
