When I joined Publicis Sapient last year, I was made to undergo 3 days onboarding and mandatory trainings to complete over period of three months.
I like this concept, as I could relax during those trainings and learn some soft skills/data security rules as well. To me those trainings felt like soft skills taring which helped me better in communication(both verbal and written), negotiation, people dealings as well as self- awareness sessions. These trainings have helped me in 360 degree personality development.
I also got time to do some technical or domain related trainings during initial days, to improve my work performance directly.
Although, now work pressure is more during client delivery. Hence, I am not able to spend dedicated time to trainings as frequently as I would prefer.
Being a Big Data+ Java Developer, I have got good project. Sometimes, I get stuck in coding as there are less people in project who have deep domain knowledge. This results in lot of time wastage in research and trials.
