Most of us are bored of the routine work, hectic schedules. Everyone waits for friday and tries to enjoy as much he/she can.
But its boring to go out shopping and see movies. I have been roaming around Pune for past few years. Last weekend, Tulapur came as a surprise discovery to me, that too within a drive of 1 hour from Vishrantwadi.
Those who have read about History of Maratha Empire must be knowing about Sambhaji Maharaj. He was brutally killed after a torture of 15 consecutive days. The place was Tulapur. Visit the samadhi of the great maratha warrior. The place is also famous by the name "Sangameshwar" as there is a sangam of 3 rivers - Bhima, Bhama and Indrayani. Tulapur also has a old Lord Shiva temple on these river banks. Sounds like a picturesque place to visit ?
Here are the details -
How to reach :
The place is just 22 Kms away from Vishrantwadi. Means 30 Kms away from Pune Station.
The route is Pune-Alandi-Tulapur. You will have to take a right turm from Alandi.
What to See:
1.The Shiv Temple
Ganesh Temple
Sambhaji Maharaj Samadhi
Activities:
Boating - Row boat service is available. They charge Rs. 20 for a complete round.
Picnic - You can go to the other bank of the river by boat and enjoy your picnic in the shadow of babool trees.
Fishing - I believe fishing is allowed for tourists. (Not for fishermen :P)
Final Words ? .. Good for a day picnic with family/friends
