Went to Punjab Grill, Sec 17 chandigarh after booking after reading few stupid or unfair reviews on net. First impression after entering, ambience is okie but too much congested space .
We got table downstairs. Opted for buffet which was of Rs 395+ VAT+ service taxes(which was Rs. 490/-. Without even asking us mineral water was served and was billed for it. We got to know about the mineral water after receiving the bill. Tomato Shorba was served in Veg Soup.Horrible, tasted like leftover of tomato boiling. The worst taste I ever had till now for Tomato Shorba. For starters .two veg and two non vegs snacks were in the buffet. For veg – Haryali Paneer, which was okie but fried baby corn.pathetic.no taste at all. In non veg:- Kababs were but the other item was tasteless. Even in salad there were only 2 varieties i.e. basic green salad and chicken salad. Boonti raita was just OK.
Now come the main course. for vegetarian 3 dishes . daal makhani, kadai paneer and some mushroom vegetable and veg biryani. vegetables were ok but biryani was horrible. in non veg 2 dishes. butter chicken. horrible in taste.rahraa muton. tasteless. not even cooked proper. all mutton pieces were like chewing gum. chicken biryani. sweet. I don’t know how.
Chapattis were served even before even we thought of starting the main course. 4 puddings. spongy rasgulla. like tined haldiram ones. phirni. ok type. moong ki daal ka halwa. good one . and one chocolate chip cake(very very small pieces). no taste at all.
At last they served paan shots with the bill of Rs.1100 for two person in buffet. its better to serve paan instead.
Overall very bad experience . not recommended at all.
