Puri is one of the most visited tourist destination in India. My visit last year to Puri left me with a different opinion of it.
The place is extremely crowded. We didn’t get places to sit on the beach. I had to rent chairs for my family to sit.
Things get stolen, a lot. I lost one of my bags and my camera.
Puri is very expensive, if you are going on a fun retreat. I surpassed my budget in the first half of my trip.
The beaches aren’t as clean as they are claimed to be. The place was filled with litter and the clean region was already occupied by hotels and shops.
Though the atmosphere was cool and the people in the city were friendly.
