Dont go to Pushkar, its incredibly overrated. There are a lot of temples you can visit but each one of them will ask you for crazy donations like 1000-6000 rupees, especially if youre a foreign tourist. In some temples foreign tourists are not even allowed to visit which makes no sense at all. Also you will get scammed with a (temple) tour guide because theyll usually charge you around 1000 rupees or more. The local priests/babas here are getting very rich from tourism and all they care about is asking for donations to build more temples so they can ask for even more donations there. If they tell you its for charity its not! There are barrely any poor people in Pushkar so i will guarantee you 90 percent will just go to the hindu priests/temples. There will be babas (i heard many are fake) asking you for donations for the hindu community in Pushkar randomly on the street, if you refuse theyll give you a weird look or yell something at you. I didnt take a camel safari because the "desert" here is one big joke, there are only like 5 sanddunes. If you want a decent camel safari just go to jaisalmer which you can reach with just one overnight bus. The lake looks nice but its not nearly as beautifull as the lakes in Udaipur. The biggest thing thats wrong with Pushkar is just the people who live there, sure there are some very good people but many people living here are just after your money in a very rude and narcissist way.
