This is the second time I came across the same situation. Two months back I went to PVR Cinemas in Bangalore. I requested for 2 tickets. I paid the money and got the tickets and remaining amount. There was a lengthy queue so I came out of the counter.
When I counted the balance amount, there was a shortage of Rs.100. I went back to the counter and I asked ‘The Balance is not correct’. Suddenly the man who is issuing the tickets gave me Rs.100, without asking me the shortage amount. I really wondered. Ok. This might happened by mistake.
Yesterday I went for night show. I gave 300 for two tickets. Ticket issuing person gave me the tickets with Rs.40 balance. But the Ticket price is 120 each. I asked him about the remaining Rs.20. Then he gave back the correct amount. This also might be by mistake. Suddenly one more person (same like me) came to the adjacent counter and demanded for the exact change. Then I come to know these things are happening regularly.
Some of us don’t have the habit of **counting the balance amount**, that is the main reason for this.In the hotels also I came across this kind of things. After paying the bill for the food which you had in the hotel, the waiter will keep the balance in the bill folder.
The bill folder has a pocket in the corner. The waiter will keep some 10 or 20 rupees in the pocket. There is lot of chance to miss the amount in the pocket of bill folder. If you count that and ask the waiter for the remaining amount, then the waiter will be cool, he will come and show that the amount is there in the pocket of bill folder.
One can give tips 10 or 20 rupees to the waiter. But we should not be cheated.
